Beautiful Alexandra Park in Hastings… being….calm…

It is Election Day. It’s pouring with rain. It’s a dark day. Philosopher and I have just been out to vote. So, let’s finally forget it.  Let’s forget the utterly dismal political situation, the frenzy of Christmas preparations, the fraught travelling up and down the country, all of it… and admire some pictures of our beautiful Alexandra Park in Hastings on a bright day a couple of weeks ago.

Yes, I know.  So many people have told me to calm down over politics… but it is so difficult when you see the lying neo-fascists just getting off scot-free, skating happily onwards on a media-generated tide of public ignorance and folly… but it will soon be over, and we will be stuck with what we vote for. I have been banned from both Hastings and Rye Conservatives and our local Tory candidate’s pages on Facebook – not for being rude, just for presenting them with facts… Facts? Who needs them. Lies are so much more fun.

And oh goodness have we been busy and fraught… travelling down to Bristol last weekend to stay with Anna and Gareth, the WI do on Tuesday, up to London yesterday… out and about…

Getting ready for Christmas – buying stuff and wrapping it all up, writing cards, putting up decorations, cleaning.  We have had a leak in our front verandah and were expecting builders to reroof it – who of course didn’t come… I had to get all my Murano and Mdina glass collection down off their shelves, so washed every single piece. Some of those bits hadn’t been washed for 7 years.  Now, of course I can’t put them back until the builders have been, so they are all packed in crates and will remain so until after Xmas… grr.

But calm…. calm….  from now on it will be lovely scenery, cats, spaghetti poodles and happy smiling faces…

Alexandra Park is so beautiful. We are so lucky to have it. No wonder it has been voted the South-East’s best park.  I have posted about it so many times before, too. Here is just one.  But now, join Philosopher and me on our walk.
